In the process, the water seeps from the raisin beds and then deposits the calcium and magnesium ions from the hard water. Then, the soft water passes from the control valves, flows through the pipes, and reaches the household appliances.
- Control Valve
The control valve performs its work of checking the quantity of the water passing from the mineral tank. It passes through the mineral tank then, in the resin, beads exchange the sodium ions from the hardness ions from the water. The resins continue to deplete in softening the hard water in the mineral tank and then supplying it. The beads become a burden with the weight of the magnesium and calcium ions. Then, the control valve automatically starts with the regeneration cycle. It does the pre-programmed functioning while softening the water during the process. The control valves contain the demand-initiated systems, which allow the water softening units to function efficiently.
- Brine Tank
The brink tank is an essential system useful for water regeneration purposes. It is the shorter-sized tank that is fitted near the overhead tank. It contains the concentrated salt solution that is restored in the resin beads for the positive charge. The technicians manually add the salt in the form of the pellets or blocks in the brine tank. It dissolves in the water at the bottom area of the tank. The control valve registers the softening capacity of the water in the overhead tank. Add the salt to the brine tank constantly. It does the water softening in the main tank.
Working Of A Water Softener
The process of the water softening is the ion exchange. It does the elimination of calcium and magnesium from the water. There is the spherical resins bed on which the hard water passes through the mineral tank. The anions are the resin beds, and they have a negative charge in them. On the other hand, magnesium and calcium contain positive in them, which makes cation. You know that the opposite charges of the minerals attract each other. All the hard water passes through the resins, and the beads hold the minerals calcium and magnesium in them. It makes them harder with time. You have to add salt to the brine tank frequently. It does the water softening work. However, the salt level decreases from it then, the water softening will not happen in the ion exchange process.
