I was a little kid when I first heard my dad say, “Are ya winning son?” after I had just scored a goal on the soccer field. The phrase has stuck with me ever since as one of those things you never forget.

It’s not about whether or not I won the game, it’s about how much fun we were having playing together and celebrating our victories. We’re all winners in life if we find ways to have fun and enjoy ourselves along the way.

EXPERIENCES

In this blog post, I’ll be sharing some stories from my own experience that show what it means to win at life! I did not have a lot of money when I was growing up, but my dad always found ways to make me feel like the richest kid in town. One time he surprised me with tickets for an Angels game and we had such a great time together!

For years afterwards, every year on Christmas Eve morning before breakfast, we would go outside and spread our lawn chairs out in front of the house so that Santa could find us easily. My parents never wanted anything more than what they had–to be happy and healthy people who loved each other dearly. If you’re looking for some inspiration to keep your spirits high this holiday season (or any day), I hope reading about how much fun my family has had over these past few decades helps you
