The “are we there yet?” meme is one of the most popular memes in internet history. It has been used for a variety of different purposes, but mainly it’s just a way to express frustration.

In this blog post, we will explore how the are not there yet meme came about and some of its more interesting uses! The meme first started in 2003. A group of teenagers called the “Funny Junkers” created a website with heaps of memes that they were making at the time and it included this one too.

One day, someone posted the question “are we there yet?” on their forum, which was meant to convey frustration about travelling somewhere long-distance (often school). They didn’t intend for it to become such an iconic piece of internet culture though!

In 2004, a graphic designer named Tony Delacruz made some stickers out of various animated characters from popular Pixar movies as well as TV shows like Spongebob Squarepants and Ren & Stimpy holding up signs asking if they are there yet.
